Taigh Seonaig is next to the River Coe in Glencoe
If you've never been to Glencoe, might I be so bold to suggest that you're missing a trick. I drove through Glencoe on a Scottish holiday last year, and the mountainous remoteness is almost like a moonscape. The photo above was taken driving along the A82, which cuts through this region.
For those wanting to see this part of the world themselves, and wanting to do more than just drive through, there is a holiday cottage you just may be interested in.
Taigh Seonaig can be found on the River Coe, just outside the town of Glencoe. Should you stay at Taigh Seonaig, you can explore the vast open spaces around these parts. You can drive north along the banks of Loch Eil to Fort William, and head up the Nevis Range. For those wanting a winter holiday on the slopes, the Nevis Range is the place to heda for, with cable cars taking you up to the top. We visited in July, so no winter-sports were available (fortunately), however those cable cars are still operational, so you can easily get to the top and take in the sights. The Nevis Range is a mountain bikers haven too, your cycle can be hooked onto the back of the cable car, and you just follow the track back down again.
Oban is a few miles south of Taigh Seonaig, and although a lovely town in its own right, Oban is also the place to head to catch a ferry to explore the outer isles.
